Redefining Care: Uplifting and Empowering the Caregivers Who Carry Us

Caregiving is one of the most selfless acts a person can perform—yet caregivers are often the most unsupported individuals in our communities. At Serengeti Care Foundation, we are on a mission to uplift caregivers, empower their journeys, and ultimately redefine what care means in today’s world.

Why Uplifting Caregivers Is the First Step

When caregivers are emotionally drained, financially stressed, or isolated, the entire caregiving ecosystem suffers. That’s why our first priority at Serengeti is to uplift caregivers by recognizing their worth and listening to their needs.

We do this by offering access to:

  • Mental health support tools and self-care strategies

  • Compassion-driven caregiver resources

  • A supportive network of volunteers and professionals

Visit our Caregivers page to see how we center caregivers in everything we do—from workshops and events to individual check-ins and emotional support programs.

Empowering Caregivers to Lead With Confidence

True empowerment means giving caregivers the skills, knowledge, and space to grow. Through our expert-led caregiver workshops and events, we help caregivers:

  • Build practical care skills

  • Navigate health systems

  • Advocate for themselves and their loved ones

  • Develop emotional resilience

We also provide support through our volunteer community, ensuring caregivers have someone to lean on when they need a break.

Empowerment isn’t just about training—it’s about transformation. And we’re here to walk that path with them.

Redefining Care for a More Compassionate Future

At Serengeti Care Foundation, we believe it’s time to redefine care. Care should not be one-directional, exhausting, or invisible. It should be mutual, supported, and sustainable.

We’re redefining care by:

  • Offering financial relief through the Serengeti Care Grant Hardship Application

  • Creating community spaces where caregivers are celebrated, not sidelined

  • Highlighting caregiver stories and lived experiences

  • Partnering with donors, volunteers, and local leaders to reshape policies and support systems

Our nonprofit foundation is built on the belief that care can—and should—look different. And better.
